On Friday the 17th of May 2019 me and Frances from 11HY went to Ara for outdoor education experience and also to see how it is really like and how it feels to do outdoor education and also learn something that you have never learned before, or maybe some of you have already learned about it. We went for the whole day which was amazing and we also went out to the mountain to do some activities which were ROCK CLIMBING, something that I did not accept but it was alright and it was amazing.
As you can you see in this picture these were the rocks that we were climbing for the whole day which was pretty scary to climb but when you climb the rocks you will feel amazing. The name of the rocks that we climb was footwear and it's going to sound funny but the rocks have different names and these were the rocks that we climb throughout the whole day.
As we were up in the mountain getting ready to climb we were divided into groups by our mentor and our instructors in the groups because there were lots of us and we had to spread into groups, which was a group of three or four and Frances and me worked together with the two students from Burnside High School and also with our instructor for the day Rapha.
Working together with these two students from Burnside High School Madie and Elise was really amazing and they had really good skills in climbing the rocks even though they were scared of heights but they were able to overcome their fear by actually going all out and try your best to get that fear out from getting in your way.
Climbing these rocks was really hard for me only cause I only went halfway through the rocks and then I went back down. But after climbing that rock I feel so good even though I didn't go that far to the top of the rocks but I get to try and actually do it. It was not about reaching the top of the rocks it was all about having fun and getting to enjoy that moment even though it was only one day. As you can see in these pictures you can see how excited everyone was to do the rock climbing for the whole day. To be honset we did not known that we were going to climb rocks until we went to the mountain and we realize that we were going to climb the rocks and it makes some of us excited and ready to climb the rocks.

Throughout the whole day, our instructors have been teaching us a lot of stuff which is how to be a belayer when a person's climbing the rocks while the other's support the person that is climbing and how to tied a figure of 8 knot. We experience a lot of different stuff throughout the whole which was very amazing and some of us even overcome lots of fear after climbing the rocks. The worst thing that happend on the day was it was really cold which makes it even harder to clim the rocks because our hands were really cold, but in the end we ended up having fun and we just enjoyed the day even though it was really cold. At 1:52 we start packing up and get ready to return back home and the sad thing was that some wanted to stay and do more rocks climbing but we had to leave because the activites were done according to the instruction that was given to us.

The biggest thing that learnt this day was that I know how to actual climb a rock and I have also overcome my fear of being afarid of heights which was something that I thought that I won't be able to let go and also. I aslo learn that it's not all about who the best person is and what skills your good at, it's was all about enjoying, having fun and having the chance to try out new stuff that you have not done before.
