OTZI THE ICEMAN

25.05.18

In Summary

In Social Studies we have been doing research about Otzi the Iceman who was found 5,300 years ago and in our research we have found out that Otzi was shot by an arrow from behind and many people were surprise about his death. Otzi died after he had a nice meal but it was said that he did not feel scared before he died. When scientist research his body they found a lot of tattoos and scars on his body. They have also discover that he had sickness called diastema. They also found a finger print on his copper which did not belong to Otzi and we have come to a conclusion that Otzi death was sort of a revenge

Why is evidence importan

  • Evidence is important because it is the only way to proof or show people that something is true and it also tell them that it is not a made up story.

Power of One

Sexxy paragraph: We have learn in English class how to write a paragraph using sexxy paragraph and I have learn a lot of things.

{S} The film aspect in this scene has shown a long shot of Sergeant Borman standing directly across from Geel Piet , who was an African Prisoner.

{E} In this scene, they used long shot to show the audience a fair idea of what's going to happen  next as Sergeant Borman stands assertively with his Baton in his left hand facing Geel Piet direction.

{X} The direction purpose of using the long shot is to help express the mood and outline the main problem of the scene, which is Sergeant Borman targeting Geel Piet .

{X} This made the audience want to get involved into the situation and stand up for Geel Piet. It causes us to be afraid of Geel Piet and feel what his feeling.

{Y} This aspect can be compared to when the director used a two shot in the scene when P.K was fighting with an Afrikaner fighter because he might be afraid of what might happen afterwards.

NEUTRALISATION.

17.05.18
A chemical reaction occurs when you mix together and acid and a base. The base cancels out the effects of the acid. The reaction is called a neutralisation reaction because a neutral solution is made if you add just the right amount of acid and base together.

Aim: To observe a neutralisation reaction.

Equipment: A test tube, test tube rack, 1 mol L-1 Na2CO3 (sodium carbonate), 1 mol L-1 HCI (hydrochloric acid), dropper bottle, Universal indicator solution.

Method: Add approximately 1-2 mL of Na2CO3 and place the test tube rack. Add 3-5 drops of Universal indicator solution.
- Using a dropper bottle, add HCI drop by drop. Be careful because adding even a small amount of extra acid can mean you'll miss the neutralisation point.

NEOLITHIC

                            History Of Neolithic Stone Age.

This is a poster that I have worked on about Neolithic. The meaning of Neolithic is new stone scraper, scrapers are the one of the original stone tools, found everywhere where people settle long before the Neolithic Age began. The Neolithic Era (new stone) began around 10,000 BC and ended between 4500 and 2000 BC in various parts of the world. Traditionally considered the last part of stone age or new stone. The Neolithic followed the terminal period and commenced with the beginning of farming, which produce the Neolithic Revolution. It ended when metal tool became widespread . The Neolithic is a progression of behavioral and cultural characteristics and changes, including the used of wild and domestic crops and of domesticated animals. The beginning of
Neolithic is considered to be in the Levant about 10,200 BC.

                                            Neolithic Tools.

Neolithic people was extremely successful farmers, and particularly adept at producing the tools needed for the tending, harvesting and processing of their crops. Tools such as sickle blades, grinding stones, projectile points, stone axes, hammers, flint scrapers and knives were all fashioned from flint or stone.

Neolithic House.

A Neolithic house was rectangular and made either from tree trunks sunk vertically into the ground or from woven branches covered with mud. The gables at each end were supported by a large beam leaning against the ridge of the roof. The roof itself was made from timber beams with reed thatch covering it.

Neolithic Food.

During this period humans began domesticating plants such as wheat, barley, lentils, flax and eventually all crops grown in today's society. Neolithic humans also domesticating sheep, cattle, pigs and goats as convenient food sources. Most unprocessed, whole foods logically fit in the Neolithic diet.

Neolithic Lifestyle

Sedentary.... They farmed in permanent settlements and raised/herded animals; agriculture was discovered and becomes a major sources of food families evolved.

                                              Neolithic Clothes.

Neolithic people wear animals skins, woven garments.

Neolithic Health

Neolithic people were shorter and had lower life expectancy. Diseases like tooth cavities and typhoid emerged in the new stone age. Neolithic women had more children because the lifestyle was no longer nomadic.

                                            Neolithic Wall Painting.

In Perhistoric art the term Neolithic art describes all arts and crafts created by societies who had abandoned the semi-nomadic lifestyle of hunting and gathering food in the favour of farming animals husbandry.

                                                     THE   END..

MAKING INDICATORS

15.05.18
Aim: To make acid-base indicators using everyday substance.
Equipment: Red cabbage, tea, beetroot, turmeric, cranberry juice, a beaker, water, tripod, Bunsen burner, gauze mat, 1.0 mol L-1 HCI and 1.0 mol L-1 NaOH.
Method: Task one
For Tea:-Put 100 ml  of water into a beaker and boil.
-Turn off the Bunsen burner and put three tea bags in the beaker.
-Remove the tea bags when the tea is very strong.
              - Place in a small beaker and leave to one side.
For Cabbage: - Chop the cabbage into small pieces until you have enough to fill 2 cups.
                      - Place the cabbage in a large beaker and add water to cover the cabbage.
                   - Boil over a Bunsen burner for at least ten minutes for the colour to leach out of the cabbage.
                    - Filter out the plant materials to obtain a red-purple-bluish coloured liquid. This liquid is at about pH 7. ( The exact colour you get depends on the pH of the water)
                      - Place in a small beaker and leave to one side.
                      - Repeat this method for the beetroot.
For The Cranberry Juice:- Pour into a beaker and leave to one side.
For The Turmeric: - Mix 1 teaspoon turmeric in 100 ml cup of alcohol.
                                       Task Two
1. You now have five beakers, each containing  a different indicators.
2. Using a pipette, place five mL of the cabbage indicator into two test tube.
3. Add five mL of HCI (acid) to one test tube and five mL of NaOH (alkail) to the other test tube.
4. Record the colour change on the table below
5. clean the test tube and repeat for the beetroot, tea, cranberry juice, and turmeric indicators.

student are addicted to their phone

Are student addicted to their cellphones? If so, is that a problem.
To be honest, I marvel at the fact that student can actually find their way across campus in today world of smart phone. I say this answering yes to six or more of these statement is symptomatic of a cellphone or smart phone problem and could point to an addicition issue. Dependency on mobile devices can transform student's social skill making them more reliant on virtual communication while inhibiting their ability to converse in person. While the practicality of cellphones is unparalleled, the reliance students have on them is unhealthy.
Are student addicted to their phone. Many student justify this dependency on their mobile device at night in part because they rely on apps such as an alarm clock to wake up. If student do not achieve eight hours of sleep, certain cognitive function such as learning and memory, can start to decline in performance. While smartphones have many practical function, it is important to turn off your mobile device often and maintain your personal while developing meaningful, in-person relationship.

Matariki is a time to gather with families and friends reflect on the past celebrate the present, and plan for future and Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in the mid-winter and for many Maori, it heralds the start of a new year. Maori literally means the eyes of god (Mata-ariki) or little eyes (Mata-riki) and this picture shows what matariki stars is.

-This music is a Mario style music and it was perform by Mario people and they names but I can't tell them cause it's too much and also last year they knocked out Justin Bieber off  iTunes NZ music charts, and the creators of the hit song Maimoatia want to do it again and as a writer they were interested  in the different responses these soldier to the environment within New Zealand that time.and they also say that it is a song to celebrates children. It is a father's message to his or her child, encouraging to her or his to dream big and pursue any path her heart desires, and remind them that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to so long as they have the support and love of their parents.

What did you like about the music?

I like this music cause it's so good and great and I don't know what the lyrics are but I don't care I just listen to the music and I can feel something inside me something that's inspiring me and I think that they are the best and I have listen to many of their song and the song I like is the AOTEAROA by Stan Walker and the music is also lovely.

What I like about the video is the way they dance and how they make their face  it's funny not really that funny but it's funny to me and their voice is so  unbelievable .

Find out what the song is about, can you find aw translation of some of the lyrics?

AOTEAROA by Stan Walker.

                                   VERSE1

I am the mountain you are the sea flowing towards me. You are the river that runs through me I am her she is me. Created from dust and sand. Born to lead this land. (Eyeaaayeyaahh)

                                          VERSE2

Where we come from we were meant to be strong. Our legacy will carry on and if a piece of home resonates in your soul. Your journey will take you where you belong.
